About the Role

The Senior Client Service Executive (Senior CSE) will continue to undertake all existing Client Service Executive responsibilities for their immediate Investment Management (IM) team, alongside additional Senior CSE responsibilities to support the Team and the Client Service Managers. The role holder will work within a centrally managed model embedded locally.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Acts as an escalation point for the team and leads problem solving through discussion with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Challenges processes, suggests improvements, and raises issues collaboratively with desk, CSL, stakeholders, and the Peter group.
  • Consistently delivers all KPIs and Right First Time, leading the wider team and sharing best practice.
  • Leads and advocates the client engagement model, sharing knowledge and driving consistent client outcomes.
  • Undertakes all existing CSE activities and responsibilities.
  • Hosts regular meetings for Client Service Support staff, delivering business updates, receiving queries/issues, and feeding back resolutions. Escalates concerns to the wider Senior CSE group and Client Service Lead and Managers as required.
  • Act as first point of contact for Client Service Support staff and supports the team in times of absence.
  • Utilises experience and maintains in‑depth knowledge of systems and processes to support IM teams, champions changes with Cloud colleagues, and supports training for new and existing staff.
  • Assists with testing and implementation of system changes, supplies feedback as an SME, and collates client feedback with Operational teams to ensure high‑quality client service and processes.
  • Champions and supports the delivery of the Client Service Support development programme, coaching and developing staff, providing feedback for probation and appraisal, and coordinating further training.
  • Oversees and manages client lifecycle processes for the team, managing capacity and absence issues where required.

  • Professionalism and leadership.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective time and priority management.
  • Experience working as a CSE at Rathbones.
  • Experience managing end‑to‑end client lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment in which we operate.
  • Understanding of the products and services Rathbones provides.
