Project Manager – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)

We’re looking for an experienced M&E Project Manager to deliver a range of mechanical and electrical building services projects across public sector, commercial, and large residential environments.

You’ll be managing projects typically valued between £25,000 and £1 million, taking ownership from early design coordination through to delivery, commissioning, and final handover.

This role suits someone technically strong, organised, and confident working across multiple live projects in occupied environments.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Full lifecycle delivery of M&E projects (pre-construction through to handover)
  • Managing programmes, budgets, forecasting, and cost control
  • Procuring and coordinating mechanical & electrical contractors and suppliers
  • Overseeing design coordination and technical compliance
  • Running site meetings and managing stakeholders across live environments
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regs, CDM, and H&S legislation
  • Managing commissioning, testing, snagging, and defects resolution
  • Handling variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Producing progress, cost, and risk reporting
  • Working across retrofit, refurbishment, and decarbonisation projects

Typical project scope includes:

  • Air source heat pumps and hybrid systems
  • Ventilation and air-conditioning systems
  • Electrical upgrades (power, lighting, controls, containment)
  • Solar PV, battery storage, and other renewables
  • BMS systems and controls integration
  • Retrofit works in occupied buildings

What you’ll need:

  • Strong track record managing projects in the £25k–£1m range
  • Background across public sector, commercial, or residential schemes
  • Solid technical understanding of M&E systems
  • Experience working in live / occupied environments
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regs, CDM, and H&S compliance
  • Strong commercial awareness (costs, variations, final accounts)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at onceFull UK driving licence
  • Building Services / M&E contracting background
  • Exposure to low‑carbon / renewable technologies
