Business Unit
Our Wales & Western business unit delivers multi‑disciplinary civil engineering works across rail civils, transport programmes, Network Rail CP7, Environment Agency, local authority schemes, and a broad range of regional clients.
Current and upcoming works in North Wales include mobilisation of two major footbridge widening schemes, CP7 infrastructure enhancements, structural refurbishments, bridge and platform upgrades, and other minor works.
The Role
Reporting to a Project Manager, the Site Agent will manage day‑to‑day performance, safety, and delivery of multiple rail and civil engineering projects along the North Wales Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all works comply with:
- Relevant legislation
- Contract Terms and Conditions
- Contract Health & Safety Plan
- Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets
- Quality and Environmental Plans
- Deliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget
- Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial staff to manage project costs and performance
- Monitor progress and take corrective action to maintain delivery objectives
- Identify, agree, and manage changes to the contract
- Produce formal progress and performance reports for the Contracts Manager
- Support possession‑based working (weekends and nights) where required, e.g., Sandy Lane and Pen Uchaf footbridge schemes
Requirements
Strong experience as a Site Agent or skilled Sub Agent ready to step up in a rail‑focused civil engineering environment.
Essential
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
- PTS / SMSTS
- Previous experience delivering rail‑based civils projects (bridges, structures, stations, embankments, etc.)
- Strong understanding of rail standards, SHEQ, and possession‑based work
- Full UK driving licence
