Technologist

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking Technologist to join this growing South Manchester-based team

This role is responsible for ensuring all products meet the highest standards of product safety, legislation, quality, and integrity, while also meeting internal standards and customer expectations. You will work closely with Product Development, retail partners, factories, and external testing and certification bodies to support the successful launch of innovative and sustainable product ranges.

The role offers the opportunity to travel internationally to visit factories, build strong supplier relationships, and gain first-hand insight into product manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage products from a product safety and legislative perspective
• Ensure products meet all relevant quality, compliance, and integrity standards
• Coordinate sample management and approvals with internal teams, factories, and retail partners
• Create and maintain detailed technical specifications for factories
• Liaise with test houses, laboratories, and external certification partners
• Manage and develop accreditations, including FSC, BRC, SEDEX, and retailer audits
• Monitor global market developments and support market reviews and analysis
• Visit factories for development meetings, product sign-offs, and supplier assessments
• Build strong relationships with manufacturing partners

ABOUT THE CANDIDATES

You are passionate about product, design, and trends, with a strong technical understanding of product compliance and accreditation requirements. You are highly organised, adaptable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Product Technologist, Quality, Compliance, or Product Development role
• Strong understanding of product safety legislation and regulatory compliance
• Knowledge of accreditations such as FSC, BRC, and SEDEX
• Experience creating and managing technical product specifications
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Willingness to travel internationally to visit factories and suppliers

SALARY

Circa £35,000, depending on experience
