Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer

UK Power & Energy Project | Contract


We’re supporting a major UK power and energy build and are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead electrical commissioning activities through a critical delivery phase.


This is a site‑based, hands‑on role suited to engineers who enjoy ownership, coordination and technical problem‑solving in live commissioning environments.


Key Details

  • Contract: 31 Oct 2026 with possible extension
  • Start: ASAP
  • Rotation: 10 hours per day | 10 on / 4 off or 5/2 (Mon – Fri)
  • Location: Northwest UK
  • Eligibility: Full UK working rights required


The Role

You’ll take responsibility for the planning and execution of electrical commissioning activities, including:

  • Developing and executing commissioning plans, procedures and schedules
  • Leading inspections, testing and functional performance verification of electrical systems
  • Reviewing drawings and technical documentation for compliance with codes and standards
  • Coordinating commissioning activities with project, construction and OEM teams
  • Managing issue resolution, punch lists and system close‑out
  • Producing clear commissioning records, test reports and handover documentation
  • Coordinating with permit, LOTO and site safety administrators
  • Maintaining strict adherence to EHS and permit‑to‑work requirements

You’ll act as a key technical interface on site, supporting installation teams through to successful system handover.


About You

  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning within power generation or heavy process environments
  • Strong knowledge of powertrain and balance‑of‑plant systems
  • Degree‑qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); PE / chartered status advantageous
  • Confident working with OEMs, contractors and client teams
  • Strong problem‑solving and documentation skills
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, site‑driven environments
  • Full UK working rights
