Project Manager - Civil Engineering

The Opportunity

Procter Street Resourcing is partnering with a leading Principal Contractor to recruit an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways and public realm schemes across the UK. This is a key leadership role for a delivery-focused professional with the capability to manage projects from early design development through to construction completion and handover.

The Role

This role will see you take full responsibility for the delivery of complex civils projects within live public environments, ensuring operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lead projects from design coordination through to construction delivery and handover
• Manage project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout delivery
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Oversee NEC contract administration and commercial performance
• Drive project performance across highways, streetscape, and public realm schemes

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a confident and commercially aware civils professional with a strong background delivering highways and public realm projects for principal contractors.

• Proven experience managing highways and public realm infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and project controls
• Ability to lead projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of utilities coordination, temporary works, and live environments
• Strong planning, reporting, and leadership capabilities
