Derivatives Lawyer | Senior Associate | London

MAP Legal is working with a leading international law firm seeking a talented derivatives lawyer to join its expanding London finance team.

This opportunity would suit a Common Law qualified solicitor with approximately 4+ years’ PQE gained at a recognised City or international practice. The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of derivatives matters and work closely with banking, finance and restructuring teams on complex transactions.

The role will involve:

• Drafting and negotiating derivatives documentation, including ISDA-related agreements and trade confirmations
• Advising on hedging arrangements linked to financing transactions
• Supporting structured finance and repo-related matters
• Providing practical and commercially focused legal advice across a variety of asset classes
• Managing matters directly with clients, financial institutions and counterparties

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Strong technical knowledge of derivatives and financial markets
• Experience handling transactions with a good level of autonomy
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• A collaborative and proactive approach
• Confidence working in a fast-paced transactional environment
