PostgreSQL DBA Contractor 6 Months – London / Hybrid ( 3 Days in office)

I’m currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA contractor to join a highly technical infrastructure team supporting complex production environments.

Key responsibilities:

• PostgreSQL database administration and production support
• Performance tuning and optimisation
• High availability, replication, backup & disaster recovery
• Monitoring and troubleshooting database issues
• Supporting migrations/upgrades and platform improvements
• Working closely with infrastructure and engineering teams
• Ensuring security, reliability and scalability across the database environment

Tech environment:

• PostgreSQL

• Linux

• Cloud platforms – primarily Amazon Web Services / Aurora / RDS

• CI/CD, Terraform and automation tooling exposure beneficial

Looking for:

• Strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience, Ideally over 7 years of experience
• Experience supporting large-scale or high-availability environments
• Good understanding of query performance and PostgreSQL internals
• Comfortable working in fast-paced engineering-driven environments
• Great Communication skills
