Job Overview
The University of Nottingham seeks a leader to join our University Executive Board as the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global and Regional Engagement, reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor. This newly created position unites global and regional portfolios and will oversee the university’s ambitions in global engagement, regional impact and civic mission.
Responsibilities
- Oversee global engagement, regional impact and civic mission.
- Provide inspirational leadership to strengthen the university’s role as an anchor institution within the region.
- Deepen partnerships with regional, cultural, health, business and community stakeholders and advance the university’s global reputation, partnerships and international footprint.
- Own the university’s global and regional strategies and act as a senior ambassador with government, cultural and industry bodies and international agencies.
- Ensure the university’s three campuses operate with additive and synergistic value as a single global institution.
- Develop relationships at ministerial, governmental, diplomatic and sector leadership levels.
- Identify, secure and grow strategic partnerships that enhance reputation, research collaboration and commercial value.
- Lead with cultural intelligence and an inclusive approach, communicating complex ideas with clarity and impact across senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Track record of senior leadership requiring significant external representation, relationship‑building and institutional diplomacy in higher education, government, diplomatic service or other complex organisations.
- Proven ability to identify, secure and grow strategic partnerships.
- Strong cultural intelligence and inclusive leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas with clarity and impact across a wide range of senior stakeholders.
