Consultant Radiologist – Interventional Radiology

An experienced, motivated consultant Interventional Radiologist is needed to join our expanding and forward-thinking service at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive Interventional Radiology (IR) service, including elective and emergency procedures across vascular and non-vascular practice.
  • Participate in the IR on-call rota supporting acute and trauma services.
  • Contribute to general diagnostic imaging and attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Run outpatient clinics, provide clinical consultation to referring teams, and manage patient pathways from referral to discharge.
  • Supervise and train junior doctors and radiology trainees, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes.
  • Actively participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Engage in service development, support the expansion and innovation of Interventional Radiology services, and contribute to research activities aligned with departmental priorities.
  • Maintain continuing professional development (CPD) and participate in appraisal and revalidation processes.

Qualifications and experience

  • Qualified Consultant Radiologist with core competencies in Interventional Radiology.
  • Experience delivering both elective and emergency IR procedures.
  • Strong teaching, clinical governance and research facilitation background.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and improving services.
