Job Description
We are recruiting a General Practitioner to cover maternity leave at John Smith Medical Centre. The role requires 5 sessions per week, including 1 GP Clinical Lead session, and offers a salary up to £112,500 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality clinical care to patients registered at the surgery, working closely with clinical leads and the local practice team to support the operational plan
- Maintain quality within the practice, participate in clinical governance, and contribute to improvement in health outcomes through audit and the Quality and Outcomes Framework, including CQC standards
- Provide clinical care as outlined in the job plan and in line with the total triage model, including in‑person and video consultations, telephone triage, correspondence, results, medication reviews, prescriptions and other clinical administration (safeguarding lead, medicals, reports, home visits, surgery meetings and on‑call within the site, excluding out‑of‑hours)
- Adhere to the highest personal and professional standards set by the GMC, prioritising individual patient care
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and site clinical lead to develop, deliver and review the surgery action plan, covering list growth, patient satisfaction, QOF, enhanced services, KPI targets, resource profile and cost management
Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with the GMC and NHS performers list, with active clinical practice
- MRCGP accreditation or equivalent GP‑level experience
- Commitment to delivering quality, patient‑focused services
- Sound knowledge of QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs and appropriate coding
- Working knowledge of clinical systems such as SystmOne or EMISweb
