AKS Air Conditioning Ltd, a 34 year established national HVAC contractor based in Formby (NW England), is hiring a Commercial Manager one of our most senior commercial hire to date. The role owns new business origination, technical estimating, and contract closing across our target sectors: healthcare, retail, and hospitality.
This is a hunter role with serious upside. You'll work directly with the Managing Director on pipeline, pricing strategy, and key account growth, and support AKS's medium-term M&A path.
What you'll own:
- New business origination — outbound BD plan against named target lists in healthcare, retail and hospitality
- Technical estimating & pricing — survey, scope and quote all new business you win
- Closing & contract negotiation — structure PPM contracts, defend price, win against competitors
- Key account management — top 10 commercial clients
- M&A support — deal preparation, due diligence, and integration during active periods
You'll need:
- 5+ years in commercial HVAC, M&E, refrigeration or building services
- Demonstrable track record of B2B contract wins (named clients, named values)
- Comfort surveying live sites and producing scopes/quotes independently
- F-Gas qualification highly desirable; healthcare, retail or hospitality network a major plus
- NW England-based — this is not a remote role
- Full UK driving licence; right to work in the UK
