Job Description
This role is suited to an individual with experience in interior fit-out projects and/or building refurbishments. The candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a wider team environment, while also supporting and guiding peers and assistants across multi-disciplinary project teams. A sound understanding of various forms of main and sub-contracts, including the JCT suite, is essential.
Job Purpose
To assist with the financial management and administration of one or more projects, ensuring that financial targets are achieved. The role involves building effective relationships with key clients and suppliers in collaboration with the project team.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Retail / Managing QS, responsibilities include:
- Liaising with and assisting the Pre-Construction team during the tender stage
- Supporting the pricing of projects on a Design & Build basis as required
- Assisting in the preparation for post-tender interviews and contributing to securing future work from existing and new clients
- Supporting commercial control on projects from commencement to completion, including reporting on financial performance and explaining variances
- Maintaining awareness of risk management approaches to protect and enhance the company’s position, providing commercial solutions to minimize risk and maximize opportunities
- Promoting compliance with commercial policies and procedures and supporting best practices across the company
- Assisting in setting up new projects, obtaining approvals, establishing financial targets, and managing pre-contract expenditure within budget using appropriate templates and forms
(e.g JCT Suite)
- Supporting the procurement of construction packages both within and outside the approved supplier list
- Demonstrating an understanding of construction technical matters and suggesting alternative buildability and value engineering solutions where appropriate
- Maintaining awareness of internal and external stakeholders and demonstrating effective communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
