Overview
Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a leading national adult social care provider to recruit a Regional Operations Director, a newly created role within the organisation’s senior operational structure.
This is a pivotal leadership appointment responsible for the operational performance, quality and growth of a large regional portfolio of services supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
Reporting directly into the COO, the Regional Operations Director will provide visible and hands-on leadership across approximately 40 services, leading Area Directors and operational teams to drive quality, accountability and commercial performance across the region.
The successful candidate will take ownership of:
- Operational performance and KPIs
- Quality and safeguarding
- Occupancy and financial performance
- Leadership development and succession planning
- Service improvement and culture
- Growth, mobilisation and future operational scalability
This role requires a highly visible operator comfortable travelling extensively across services and building strong relationships with operational teams, Commissioners and external stakeholders.
Further afield, the role may also support the integration and harmonisation of future acquisitions across the wider portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational performance across quality, people and financial KPIs
- Drive safeguarding, governance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop high-performing operational leadership teams
- Improve occupancy, staffing efficiency and agency control
- Support mobilisation and growth of new services
- Build strong relationships with Commissioners and Local Authorities
- Maintain visible leadership presence across regional services
Essential Requirements
- Significant senior operational leadership experience (within a Director of Operations roles) within Adult Social Care
- Proven experience managing large multi-site portfolios
- Strong understanding of CQC and wider regulatory frameworks
- Commercially astute with strong financial management capability
- Experience managing service improvement and turnaround activity
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
Desirable Requirements
Leadership qualification or degree-level education
Experience operating within large national care organisations
