Electrical Engineer

This role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment and be proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on various manufacturing equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Perform calibration, validation, and adjustments on equipment, including measurement and control devices.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and associated systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with the engineering team to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records using a computerised maintenance management system.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with health & safety standards, including conducting risk assessments and following safe isolation practices.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
- Offer engineering support to production teams to help resolve issues and improve output.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and improve electrical control systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on Siemens PLCs.
- Knowledge of drive systems (AC/DC) and associated controls.
- Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
