Electrical Engineer

This role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment and be proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery.


Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on various manufacturing equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Perform calibration, validation, and adjustments on equipment, including measurement and control devices.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and associated systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with the engineering team to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records using a computerised maintenance management system.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with health & safety standards, including conducting risk assessments and following safe isolation practices.
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Offer engineering support to production teams to help resolve issues and improve output.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and improve electrical control systems.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on Siemens PLCs.
  • Knowledge of drive systems (AC/DC) and associated controls.
  • Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
