Role: Senior Project Manager
Location: Romsey (3 days per week onsite)
Day Rate: Competitive Day Rate Inside IR35 (based on your level of experience)
Duration: Initial 6 months
Clearance: Active MOD DV
We are working exclusively with a leading innovator in defence technology to find an experienced Senior Project Manager for an initial 6-month contract.
This is a role for someone who wants to be involved at the very start, taking programs from the research phase and seeing them through to the finish line. If you like the challenge of winning the work through the bidding process and then being the one to actually lead the delivery and execution, this would be a great fit.
The Focus
- Bid Leadership: You will work alongside technical and sales teams to build proposals that solve specific customer problems for the UK MoD and international partners.
- Delivery Oversight: You will take full responsibility for project lifecycles up to £5m, including rapid prototyping and sub-system delivery.
- Commercial Management: You will handle the financial health of your projects, including forecasting, risk management, and coordinating with a complex supply chain.
- Team Leadership: You will manage multi-functional teams, setting clear goals and helping them navigate technical challenges to hit key milestones.
Your Background
- You have a solid track record of delivering hardware or software projects within the UK MoD framework.
- You are comfortable with the commercial side of project management, including subcontractor relationships and contract delivery.
- Experience with rapid prototyping or urgent operational requirements is highly valued here.
