Project Support Administrator / Trainee Project Support Coordinator SWG Group – Welshpool, Wales (On-site)
Please note: This is a fully on-site role. Applicants must live within a daily commutable distance of our Welshpool office.
SWG Construction is looking for an organised and confident person to join our construction office in a varied project support and administration role.
This role could suit someone at the start of their career, a college leaver, a graduate, an apprentice, or someone with previous office, customer service, or administration experience. We are actively reviewing our internal structure, so the level of responsibility and salary will depend heavily on the successful candidate’s experience, capability, and agreed training route.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support our office and contracts teams with a wide range of daily tasks, including:
- Answering calls and acting as a professional first point of contact.
- General office administration and data entry.
- Compiling project reports and formatting meeting minutes.
- Organising training courses, accommodation bookings, and new starter inductions.
- Maintaining accurate vehicle records and assisting with internal events.
Opportunities for Development
Depending on your existing skill set and professional interests, there is significant scope to expand this role. We would be highly interested in candidates who can also provide support in any of the following areas:
- Compliance & HR: Assisting with the maintenance of internal HR records, monitoring staff training matrices, and tracking social value deliverables on our public sector contracts.
- Marketing & Digital: Helping to coordinate our digital presence, supporting social media channels, updating the company website, or executing internal marketing campaigns.
- Bid Coordination: Assisting our estimating team by organising tender documentation and ensuring bid timelines are tracked effectively.
Who We Are Looking For
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage several tasks at once.
- Confident speaking to people by phone and in person.
- Friendly, professional, and willing to learn.
- Good with written communication and comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- A specific background or interest in marketing, compliance, HR, or data management is highly advantageous but not essential.
Previous construction experience is not required. For the right person, we may support an apprenticeship or further qualification, with potential progression into project coordination, compliance, commercial support, marketing, or construction administration.
To apply, please send your CV and a short covering note explaining why you are interested in the role and highlighting any specific skills you could bring to the team.
