Company: Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing

Location: Wiltshire

Posted: May 17th, 2026

This is a role where what you do every day will be seen, felt and make a genuine difference.

We are currently recruiting a Caretaker to support our housing schemes by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and basic upkeep across communal areas.

This is a hands on cleaning and minor maintenance role for someone who notices the small details, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of well managed, clean and safe shared spaces.

The role offers variety, responsibility and visible results every day, making a genuine difference to the environments our customers live in.

About the role

Working across a defined patch, you'll be responsible for the day to day presentation, cleanliness and basic maintenance of communal and shared areas. You'll work independently while also collaborating with housing, neighbourhood and contractor teams to ensure buildings and outdoor spaces are safe, tidy and compliant.

You'll be part of a wider caretaking team, working alongside other caretakers when required and providing cover across schemes to maintain consistent standards. While much of the role involves lone working, there will be times when you work collaboratively with colleagues on shared tasks or larger jobs.

This is a practical, frontline caretaking role focused on maintaining clean, safe and well managed environments, supporting effective neighbourhood management and high standards across our housing schemes.
