Deputy Director Of Estates

Overview

The University of Sussex is seeking to appoint a Deputy Director of Estates & Facilities Management to lead on the delivery of estate and infrastructure improvement projects across the campus portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Estates, Facilities Management & Commercial Services.
• Lead strategic planning and delivery of Estates Operations across the whole University campus environment.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, particularly delivery partners such as Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) and Chartwells.
• Design transformational programmes of work, master planning, real estate development, property, sustainability and space management.
• Deliver a wide-ranging and challenging portfolio of projects, ensuring stakeholder engagement.
• Provide full range of Facilities Management services, either client side or through a contracting model.
• Understand building services and define and deliver asset management plans across a mixed estate of new and listed properties.
• Define and deliver asset investment programmes of work across the full scope of building services and general estate management.
• Manage senior teams to devise and deliver estate-wide strategies to transform service delivery in a demanding operational environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing master planning and real estate development, property, sustainability and space management.
• Experience in delivering a full range of Facilities Management services, either client side or through a contracting model.
• Understanding of building services and asset management across a mixed estate.
• Experience in defining asset investment programmes and delivering across building services and general estate management.
• Experience managing senior teams and leading estate-wide strategies.
