About the Role
We are seeking a SAP FI/CO & Project Systems (PS) Techno Functional Consultant to design, configure, and integrate finance and project based accounting capabilities within complex SAP landscapes. The role spans end to end business process design, configuration, and technical enablement, with a strong focus on S/4HANA, integration scenarios, and capital/project intensive operations.
The successful candidate will act as a bridge between Finance, Projects, and Technology, ensuring that SAP FI/CO and PS solutions are scalable, compliant, and tightly integrated with upstream and downstream systems.
You will join a high calibre strategy team operating at the intersection of product architecture, product design, enterprise integration, and competitive technology strategy. Your remit spans SAP integration strategy, product and UX design influence, competitive positioning, and executive engagement across our most strategic customers.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
- Lead end to end design and configuration of SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, AA), CO (CCA, PCA, IO, CO PA) and Project Systems (PS).
- Translate business requirements (finance, controlling, project management) into robust SAP solutions aligned with best practice.
- Design and implement project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, settlement, and capitalization processes using PS and FI/CO.
Techno Functional Delivery
- Configure and support FI/CO PS integration points (e.g. FI AA, CO OM, PS FI, PS MM, PS SD).
- Partner with technical teams on enhancements, reports, forms, interfaces, and data models.
- Provide functional ownership for interfaces and integrations (e.g. CPI/BTP, APIs, third party project or asset systems).
- Support data migration, reconciliation, and cutover activities for ECC vs. S/4HANA or hybrid landscapes.
- Contribute to developing integration patterns S/4 HANA and company components including data model alignment.
- Advise on two tier ERP or integrated architectures, particularly where SAP FI/CO acts as the financial backbone.
Stakeholder & Delivery Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, PMO, IT, and external partners.
- Support UAT, defect resolution, hyper‑care, and post go‑live optimisation.
- Produce high quality functional specifications, configuration documentation, and process designs.
Required Skills & Experience
Core SAP Expertise
- Strong hands‑on experience in SAP FI and CO configuration.
- Proven delivery experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) in project driven environments (CAPEX, engineering, construction, asset intense industries).
- Deep understanding of FI/CO PS integration and financial postings logic.
- Experience working in S/4HANA (on prem, cloud, or hybrid).
- Exposure to SAP CPI / BTP, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ability to work effectively with ABAP and integration teams (functional ownership, not pure development).
Delivery & Consulting
Strong analytical, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with two tier ERP architectures or SAP adjacent integration scenarios.
- Exposure to asset management, engineering, utilities, energy, or service centric industries.
- Understanding of compliance and audit frameworks (e.g. SOX).
