The Role
Minimise any risk, improve and maintain our service delivery and regulatory standards, i.e. the continuous supply of quality water, delivered in a safe and efficient way, focusing on optimisation of the network.
Responsibilities
- Optimise network performance and compliance: use bottom‑up analysis, DOMS, and hydraulic modelling to ensure service delivery, regulatory compliance, public health protection, and cost‑effective operation.
- Asset planning, risk management, and investment: identify, quantify, and escalates risks to service, safety, and compliance; champion required network investment through IAP and DG2 processes, supporting accurate data and business cases.
- Technical leadership and operational support: define optimal asset operating regimes, provide engineering advice for complex jobs, incidents, planned works, and maintenance, and support effective DG2 management and resolutions.
- Collaboration and stakeholder liaison: support Network Performance Managers, Water Quality and Public Health teams, analysts, contractors, and the Network Construction Alliance, ensuring schemes and strategies are effectively developed and delivered.
- Capability building and continuous improvement: maintain network schematics and connectivity, support non‑core maintenance projects, and train and mentor new staff and apprentices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework in which the business operates to maintain compliance.
- Understanding of asset management techniques, capital investment and finance, policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify, develop and drive through solutions to a wide range of technical and analytical problems.
- Technical knowledge of relevant Business systems, including MyRisk, Netbase, Mapinfo, Salesforce, Water Quality Infobank, and PIMs.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications, particularly of Excel.
- Understanding and working knowledge of hydraulic modelling.
