The Role
The Senior Consultant performs a critical role on projects after the completion of the technical design. Often delivering the majority of the development days and with the greatest level of contact with the customer after the project has been delivered. A Senior Consultant will have a combination of technical, business and consultancy experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers complex and non-routine solutions across a variety of environments within a project after completion of the technical design.
- Delivers work packages on time and to a high quality consistently, taking personal responsibility and initiative to plan work in accordance with team priorities, timescales and quality targets.
- Familiar with project requirements analysis, design and estimating with support available from a Lead or Principal Consultant.
- Familiar with using Simpsons CORE methodology to manage projects. Produces project control documentation as required, including project plans, highlight reports, change control, risk identification and management, testing and deployment.
- Demonstrates creativity in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer.
- Leads meetings/calls with confidence when attending in the place of the Lead Consultant.
- Provides technical demonstrations and confident leading sessions independently including training course delivery with customers.
- Assists queries on the support desk and handles calls according to the Simpsons support methodology.
- Takes the initiative in identifying and negotiating appropriate personal development opportunities. Maintains an awareness of relevant technical developments and their application.
- Contributes to marketing activities by sharing ideas and content to use for case studies and blogs, aiming for at least 1 per year.
- Demonstrates appropriate behaviour and work ethic according to Simpsons’ values and culture whilst achieving utilisation targets and hitting internal reporting deadlines with billing and expenses.
- Understand the wider business context of the project for the customer and Simpsons Associates.
