- Strong leadership and influencing skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate distributed teams.
- Demonstrable experience in planning and scheduling within major Infrastructure programmes of significant size and complexity.
- Expert user of Primavera P6.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing integrated programme schedules, progress management systems, and delay analysis.
- In‑depth understanding of planning tools such as Microsoft Project and other scheduling software.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary project teams with complex interface and dependency management requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.
- High degree of planning rigour, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Skilled in critical path analysis, resource levelling, schedule risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation), and performance reporting.
- Proactive and analytical approach with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
What you will contribute to the team
- Directing the application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools.
- Providing advice on complex requirements and communicating analysis and corrective measures effectively.
- Managing the planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high projects/programmes.
- Providing effective and timely advice to clients.
- Understanding of data management.
- Sequencing and scheduling the works across the project/programme.
- Establishing and maintaining baselines and ensuring project control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance.
- Working closely with the client and main contractors.
- Reviewing overall project status with the project management team and recommending corrective actions.
- Managing the project plan and reporting to the programme controls lead.
- Collecting and interpreting schedule data and providing output to the programme and project teams.
- Interacting with functional leads and programme leads to obtain schedule updates.
- Monitoring actual performance against the schedule to identify delay, early and late completion.
- Interfacing with the project technical staff to define changes to schedules and identification of variances from the original plan.
- Identifying and analysing associated schedule, resource conflicts and potential cost impacts and issues.
Candidate Specification
- Construction contractor planning background would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of NEC3/4.
- Knowledge of OPC would be useful but not essential.
- Hybrid working – initially 4 days per week then likely to move to 3 days.
