The .NET Backend Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable backend services and cloud-native applications using .NET Core and Microsoft Azure PaaS. The role involves hands‑on development, contributing to technical design decisions, and working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality solutions.
Your responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core and event‑driven architectures.
- Build, configure, and support Azure PaaS components, including SQL Database, Storage, Event Hub, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, APIM, Functions, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
- Develop secure, high‑performance RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with best practices.
- Implement unit and integration tests and support automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of code quality and architecture.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for developed components and services.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other engineers to deliver maintainable and scalable solutions.
- Support the deployment and operation of cloud applications using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with .NET Core and REST API design.
- Practical experience with Azure PaaS services, including SQL Database, Storage, Event Hub, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, APIM, Functions, and Key Vault.
- Solid understanding of microservices and event‑driven architecture principles.
- Proficiency in Entity Framework Core, SQL, and relational database design.
- Good knowledge of common design patterns, such as Repository and CQRS.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while independently handling complex development tasks.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience (As applicable)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
- Knowledge of distributed caching solutions (e.g. Redis).
- Familiarity with API lifecycle management and governance.
- Exposure to performance tuning, monitoring, and scalability strategies in cloud environments.
