Key Responsibilities
Credit Control (Primary Focus)
- Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email
- Building strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment
- Resolving payment queries and disputes
- Maintaining accurate debtor records
- Producing aged debt reports
- Setting and reviewing credit limits
- Working with credit insurance providers
- Escalating problem accounts where necessary
- Reducing aged debt and improving cash flow
Accounts Assistant Duties
- Posting sales invoices
- Posting customer payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Assisting with purchase ledger when required
- Supporting month‑end processesGeneral accounts administration
- Assisting finance team with ad‑hoc tasks
Essential Requirements
- Previous credit control experience
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Experience managing aged debt
- Experience dealing with credit insurance
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational abilities
- Proactive attitude
Desirable Attributes
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Previous Accounts Assistant experience
- Familiarity with working in an SME environment
