We are currently mandated by a leading opportunistic credit investment manager to appoint a senior Investment Professional to its London office.
Our client is a highly established and well-capitalised platform with a long-standing track record of generating attractive risk-adjusted returns across the capital structure. Strong and consistent fund performance, coupled with continued growth in assets under management, has created the need to further enhance the senior investment team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in originating, underwriting, and executing complex investments across stressed, distressed, and special situations opportunities in both public and private markets. The mandate spans a broad spectrum of instruments, including corporate bonds, leveraged loans, trade claims, liquidations, CDS, and reorganisation equity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the identification, evaluation, execution, and active portfolio management of investments across the opportunistic credit spectrum
- Developing and underwriting differentiated investment theses across dislocated situations, including restructurings, liability management exercises, and event-driven opportunities
- Executing transactions across a variety of instruments, including high-yield bonds, loans, distressed claims, and post-reorg equity positions
- Working closely with restructuring advisors, investment banks, trading desks, insolvency practitioners, and legal counsel to source and diligence opportunities
- Playing an active role in creditor negotiations, restructuring processes, and capital structure analysis
- Collaborating with senior colleagues and Investment Committee members on portfolio construction and risk management
- Supporting fundraising, investor relations, and capital formation initiatives, as well as mentoring and developing junior investment professionals
Candidate profile:
Candidates should have Director- or MD-level (or equivalent senior) experience within a leading opportunistic credit, distressed debt, or special situations investment platform. Experience may also have been gained within a special situations private equity fund or a principal investing team with a strong focus on stressed and distressed credit.
A demonstrable track record of executing investments across instruments such as bonds, loans, claims, CDS, and reorganisation equity is essential, alongside deep expertise in complex restructurings and capital structure analysis.
