The post entails caring for patients and preparing them for surgery, ensuring all safety processes followed, and receiving the patients post recovery ensuring they are fully prepared for discharge. Providing care for patients as required until they are ready for discharge. Arranging transport, medication, investigations as required. Working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the processes are efficient and safe, to ensure theatre productivity is maintained. Communicating and caring for the patients throughout their journey. There may be requirements for staff to work in other areas of the department. Working in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and following local hospital and statutory guidelines and policies. Please note that this role is not open for Visa Sponsorship.
Main duties of the job
- Implement basic nursing healthcare independently.
- Work in all areas within the day surgery unit including theatres and ward areas
- Participate with nursing and medical teams to provide a safe environment undergoing day surgery procedures, including checking and maintenance of equipment
- be competent to manage a list from admission to discharge for any speciality within the department.
- be competent to give ophthalmology drops and oral medication

- Proven clinical experience in relevant area
