We are looking for an experienced nurse colposcopist who is passionate about service delivery and patient experience.
Responsibilities
The post holder is an autonomous practitioner in colposcopy with in‑depth knowledge of national and local colposcopy/screening policies and guidelines. They will give specialist advice and assess, diagnose pre‑cancerous/cancerous changes on the cervix, provide treatment and follow‑up care.
They will supervise qualified and unqualified staff, maintain and improve the quality of care for patients referred to colposcopy in line with the NHSCSP guidelines, manage the delivery of a colposcopy unit with the lead consultant, and support the failsafe process.
The post holder will manage a caseload, delivering an effective, high‑quality patient‑focused service; provide clinical, social and psychological support and educate patients to achieve optimal independence and health.
They will provide advanced nursing skills within complex care pathways, give specialist advice and support to the defined caseload, undertake full history, investigations, examinations, colposcopy and formulate management plans.
They will ensure robust clinical leadership within the sphere of responsibility and accountability.
