Job Overview
We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic pharmacist to join our inpatient mental health pharmacy team in Chelmsford. The role will provide clinical leadership within the clinical pharmacy service, support the medicines‑related care of patients, improve existing mental health pathways, participate in training, education and research, and support robust medicines optimisation. The pharmacist will deputise for the Pharmacist Team Manager for Adult and Elderly Inpatient Mental Health Services in Mid and South Essex, based in Chelmsford with responsibility for Mid and South Essex Inpatient and Urgent Care Services.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will guide ward teams and model best practice on wards, coach pharmacy teams, set the professional standard within the Trust, and develop team members to achieve their best. They will also support robust medicines optimisation, improve pathways, and participate in training, education and research as required. The role is full‑time (37.5 hours per week) and includes participation in on‑call, weekend, early, late and bank holiday rotas as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of postgraduate training and continuing professional development in clinical pharmacy practice.
- Experience mentoring and line‑managing teams with energy and enthusiasm.
- Experience in mental health pharmacy is desirable but not essential.
Requirements
- Must be eligible for a Certificate of Sponsorship; current priorities apply to registered roles.
- Must have received COVID‑19 vaccinations as required by the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021.
