About the Role

TeenHealth is a universal service within the Targeted Family Help Service, commissioned by Public Health to support the delivery of the Healthy Together Programme for 11-19 year olds educated in Leicestershire. TeenHealth supports young people in Leicestershire to make healthier choices, sustain positive relationships and maintain emotional well‑being.

Responsibilities

  • Spending up to one day per week in allocated schools to provide one‑to‑one support and group support.
  • Delivering sexual health advice and drop‑in services, including condom registration events and distribution.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of groups and events in the community for young people in line with the teen health local priority areas.
  • Working with young people to complete assessments of their needs and develop plans to help support and achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Promoting safeguarding and reporting safeguarding concerns, and working within national legislation and local policy to ensure that young people are safeguarded and accessing the correct level of support.
  • Supporting the wider Teen Health team across the County to ensure that delivery is equitable and consistent for all young people.
  • Managing your own diary for appointments, meetings, group delivery and recording all interventions with young people.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or have equivalent aptitude or Minimum NVQ Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of liaising with key individuals in schools to ensure the Teen Health offer is accessible and promoted to young people.
  • Experience of working with young people in group and one‑to‑one settings.
  • Experience in sexual health advice delivery and community event planning.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and local policy.

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
