Cygnet Hospital Taunton is opening a new 15‑bed neuro‑cognitive service for older adults with complex cognitive and neurological conditions alongside psychiatric sequelae.

Responsibilities

• Determine how dietetic input is best delivered to meet the needs of individuals and the service.
• Hold a small active caseload and provide direct 1:1 input, advice to staff, unit‑based clinics and possibly group work to manage complex presentations.
• Provide comprehensive dietetic assessment and produce individualized dietetic plans.
• Collaborate closely with the catering team, Speech and Language team and wider multidisciplinary team to give specialist advice on meal plans and feeding regimens.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with a degree or postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Dietetics.
• Registration with HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the BDA (British Dietetic Association).
• Experience or knowledge of managing alternative (enteral) nutrition is desirable.
• Experience supporting weight management and/or diabetes is essential.
• Experience working with older adults, neuro‑rehabilitation or neuro‑degenerative conditions and/or mental health is strongly desirable.
• Strong team‑player attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
• Enthusiasm, motivation and passion for the role.
