Job Description:

Eventus Recruitment is seeking an EL/PL Fee Earner for a permanent, full-time position based in Macclesfield. This exciting role offers an outstanding work-life balance, including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. The office is closed over Christmas, and free parking is available nearby. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, with an early finish at 2pm on Fridays. Hybrid working is available, up to 3 days remote per week depending on experience. Job Responsibilities

As the EL/PL Fee Earner, you will be responsible for handling EL/PL matters from initial instruction through to settlement and/or trial. The day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Managing issued, fast‑track litigation matters with minimal supervision.
  • Progressing each stage of the claims process including portal submissions and full litigation at court.
  • Acting upon court directions and sustainably preparing files for trial.
  • Liaising with insurance companies and defendant solicitors both verbally and in writing.
  • Completing action tasks daily and fully reviewing files to identify and execute the next steps.
  • Sending out relevant correspondence to clients, insurance companies, witnesses, and police.
  • Maintaining inbound and outbound client contact throughout the claim.
  • Reviewing medical records, reports, police reports, and related materials as part of each claim.

Person Specification

The successful fee earner will possess strong experience running EL/PL claims and settling cases in line with legal procedures and best practice. To succeed you must demonstrate:

  • Legal knowledge of the EL/PL portal process.
  • Proficiency with Civil Procedure Rules and fast‑track litigation.
  • Strong working skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Initiative working individually and the ability to contribute as part of a team.

Preferred but not essential experience includes:

  • Experience using the Proclaim case management system.
  • Legal knowledge of the compensation claims system and LASPO.
  • Demonstrable history of running EL/PL claims autonomously.

Salary for this position is dependent on experience. For candidates with pre‑litigated experience only, the banding is up to £30,000; for post‑litigated experience, up to £40,000.
