About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market‑leading expertise from four civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. All partners have specialist expertise in designing, constructing, operating, financing and maintaining railway networks, including one of Europe’s latest high‑speed rail projects.
We are seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our team at the Nash Lee Site.
The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations.
You will report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close‑out. In assisting with temporary works design schemes, you will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
You’ll be responsible for managing the site setting‑out team and for the performance and development of the Site Engineers, as well as identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‑Agent. You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements.
In ensuring the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.
About You
- HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working toward institute membership (ICE).
- Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Experience in structures, earthworks, highways and drainage – essential for this role.
- Must have own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
- Full driving licence required.
- You must hold the following competencies:
- SMSTS or SSSTS;
- CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager, or Gold – Supervisor.
