Responsibilities
- Define and capture the technical requirements for Project Definition Briefs.
- Ensure engineering work meets regulatory compliance for relevant electrical assets.
- Develop a strong understanding of the engineering and environmental aspects of plant design and delivery.
- Contribute to risk identification, investigation, and mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate within the Electrical discipline teams to support Thames Water in achieving its Asset Management Planning (AMP8) goals through 2030 and beyond.
- Learn on the job and through targeted training, with guidance and support from experienced senior engineers.
Location & Hours
Location: Hampton TW12 2ES
Hours: 36‑hour week over four working days plus one training day
Start Date
September 2026
Training & Qualification
- Study with Newbury University, one day per week on campus, combining hands‑on learning with expert‑led instruction.
- Qualification: Level 6 Apprenticeship Standard in Product Design Development in Engineering – HNC/HND & BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering.
- Duration: Permanent contract with a 48‑month structured programme.
Requirements
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 9-4 / A-C)
- 3 A‑Levels (grades A–C / 9–4), including a technical or engineering subject
- Travel required to Thames Water sites
- Good time management and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
