Electrical Engineer – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)

Location: Peterborough

The role is part of the Anglian Water one Alliance, a ground‑breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry‑leading partners including Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver a significant portion of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme and are focused on nature‑based, sustainable solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and specify LV electrical installations and distribution systems, including detailed specifications, schedules, data sheets and drawings.
  • Design and specify LV assemblies (MCC, LV switchboards and control panels) with appropriate specifications and drawings.
  • Review LV electrical designs produced by framework contractors, including schematics, cable calculations and termination diagrams.
  • Liaise with technical teams, construction staff, operations, suppliers and utility companies on technical matters.
  • Specify and select instrumentation based on the process design.

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
  • Strong Electrical Engineering background.
  • Willingness to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in the water industry is an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence, as site visits will be required.
