About the role
Electrical Engineer – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)
Location: Peterborough
The role is part of the Anglian Water one Alliance, a ground‑breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry‑leading partners including Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver a significant portion of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme and are focused on nature‑based, sustainable solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.
What you’ll be doing
- Design and specify LV electrical installations and distribution systems, including detailed specifications, schedules, data sheets and drawings.
- Design and specify LV assemblies (MCC, LV switchboards and control panels) with appropriate specifications and drawings.
- Review LV electrical designs produced by framework contractors, including schematics, cable calculations and termination diagrams.
- Liaise with technical teams, construction staff, operations, suppliers and utility companies on technical matters.
- Specify and select instrumentation based on the process design.
Who we’re looking for
- Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
- Strong Electrical Engineering background.
- Willingness to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team to solve complex problems.
- Experience in the water industry is an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence, as site visits will be required.
