Job Title: Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer

Salary: up to £65,000 DOE

Environment: Automation and Bespoke machine building

Location: Castle Donington

Hours: Flex – Monday to Thursday (8hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am and Fridays (6hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am (38hr week)

Holidays and Benefits: 33 days, pension 4% by employer, death in service x2 salary

Overview

We now require an additional Controls Engineer to join the team. Working in modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture bespoke automated machinery.

You will be working in a first-class engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.

Key responsibilities of the Controls Engineer role

  • Design & Program: Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot & Optimize: Analyse control systems to identify issues and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
  • Provide detailed documentation both during and upon project completion to other engineering departments and for the end user, such as FDS's, FAT's, User Manuals etc.

The ideal candidate / Controls Engineer may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually

  • HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in PLC / HMI Programming – Rockwell/Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi.
  • Previous experience working as a Controls / Automation Engineer in a automation and machine build/machine design environment or similar.
  • Experience using software such as Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, GX Works 2, GT Designer 3 & Machine edition.
