Field Service Engineer

Location: Ayrshire

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | Mobile Field-Based Role

What's on Offer

  • £40,000 basic salary

Please note: we welcome engineers with: Plant, Agricultural, Hydraulics, HGV or Heavy Equipment backgrounds!

As part of the mobile engineering team, you'll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a range of forklifts, heavy equipment and specialist materials-handling machinery across customer sites in either Glasgow or Ayrshire.

You’ll manage your own workload and schedule while building strong relationships with long-standing customers across your local patch.

Full product training can be provided for engineers coming from transferable heavy mechanical backgrounds.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on hydraulics, engines, transmissions, braking systems and electrics
  • Comfortable working independently in a mobile role
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Our client is a well-established and growing materials-handling business supporting customers across Scotland with industry-leading equipment. Unlike many field service roles, this position offers a genuinely supportive environment where engineers are trusted to manage their own day without constant micromanagement or unrealistic pressure. You’ll work across a local territory with paid door-to-door travel, no weekend rota, and the backing of an experienced technical team. This is a long-term opportunity with a stable business that values good engineers and gives them the freedom to do what they do best.
