Technical Engineering Manager

Locations: Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford, United Kingdom.

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading provider of integrated facilities management and real estate services. We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our National Accounts division, supporting a national portfolio of client resorts and driving engineering excellence across the contract.

About the Role

As a key technical leader, you’ll act as the principal client-facing expert, providing strategic engineering support, driving innovation, and ensuring best practice across all service lines. This is a highly visible role where you’ll partner with account teams, business development, and QHSE to deliver safe, reliable, and forward-thinking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical SME across all contracts, promoting best practice and standardisation
  • Support site teams with engineering expertise across all building services disciplines
  • Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis, sharing lessons learned
  • Provide technical input to business development opportunities and client solutions
  • Act as Senior Authorised Person / Authorising Engineer (Electrical, Pressure, Confined Spaces)
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, risk registers, and technical documentation
  • Champion innovation and new technologies across the division
  • Mentor and develop engineers, raising technical standards across teams
  • Work closely with QHSE to ensure safe systems of work and compliance
  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support for account teams when required
  • Work from home base with national travel across England

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified engineer in Building Services Engineering or similar
  • Proven experience or working toward a Senior Authorised Person / Authorising Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of building services systems (electrical, mechanical, etc.)
  • Experience in client-facing roles within a multi-site environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports
  • Confident communicator, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Flexible, proactive approach with the ability to support at short notice
