Overview

Interim HR Consultant (Part-Time – 30 Hours) – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract located in Clacton-On-Sea (Hybrid Working). Salary £50,000 – £55,000 Pro Rata (full time equivalent). We are supporting a growing Essex-based organisation in appointing an experienced HR Manager to join on an interim basis.

This standalone HR role offers the opportunity to embed within the organisation, strengthen the people function and bring greater structure and consistency across HR processes and practices. Potential for extension or permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting organisational change and restructures.
  • Providing advice and guidance on employee relations matters.
  • Working closely with unions and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Embedding structure and consistency across the wider business.
  • Supporting managers with day-to-day HR guidance and best practice.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a standalone or generalist HR role.
  • Essential union exposure and experience managing union relationships.
  • Strong restructure and organisational change experience.
  • Up-to-date employment law knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and build strong relationships across the business.
  • A proactive and hands‑on approach.

Working Hours & Hybrid Arrangements

Flexibility around working hours across a 30‑hour working week. An on‑site presence will be required during the first month to embed fully with managers and the wider business before moving to a hybrid working arrangement.
