Qualifications

  • Geology degree and Chartered status (Geological Society, ICE or similar) with several years of related experience.
  • Significant UK consultancy experience in geo‑environmental engineering / contaminated land.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and teams.
  • Commercially aware with strong client‑facing skills.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geo‑environmental and contaminated land projects from inception to completion.
  • Design, procure and supervise site investigations and remediation works.
  • Interpret factual and interpretative site investigation data.
  • Prepare and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, remediation strategies and verification reports.
  • Undertake and review generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments.
  • Carry out site visits as required.
  • Manage project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across the team.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support business development, bids and tenders.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
