Qualifications
- Geology degree and Chartered status (Geological Society, ICE or similar) with several years of related experience.
- Significant UK consultancy experience in geo‑environmental engineering / contaminated land.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance.
- Experience managing multiple projects and teams.
- Commercially aware with strong client‑facing skills.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geo‑environmental and contaminated land projects from inception to completion.
- Design, procure and supervise site investigations and remediation works.
- Interpret factual and interpretative site investigation data.
- Prepare and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, remediation strategies and verification reports.
- Undertake and review generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments.
- Carry out site visits as required.
- Manage project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across the team.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support business development, bids and tenders.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
