Head of Mathematics – Secondary SEN School
PK Education is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Head of Mathematics to join a specialist SEN secondary school in Northumberland on a full-time, ongoing basis with an immediate start available.
This is a passionate Maths teacher and strong leader opportunity to join a supportive SEN setting, leading the Maths department while supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
The Role
- Leading the Maths department within the school
- Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages
- Supporting and developing the Maths curriculum
- Monitoring pupil progress and attainment
- Managing behaviour positively and effectively
- Working collaboratively with senior leadership and teaching staff
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Previous experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Experience in a leadership role or as Head of Department desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Experience within SEN settings advantageous
- A passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
