Investment Research Expert – London
Fundhouse is looking for a talented individual to join our investment team. In this position, you will focus primarily on manager research (covering equities, fixed income and multi-asset), but also assist with other investment functions, client servicing and business development. Fundhouse is an award‑winning investment company providing investment insights and services to institutional investors globally, and UK‑based wealth managers and independent financial advisers (IFAs).
We will count on you to
- Be recognised as an expert in the UK wealth industry dynamics, including a solid understanding of major asset management firms and a good knowledge of managers across mainstream asset classes
- Lead the end‑to‑end due diligence process for a list of funds across mainstream asset classes (equity, fixed income, and multi-asset), including the creation and maintenance of research reports
- Proactively source and evaluate new investment opportunities, primarily within the UK‑ and Europe‑domiciled fund universe, by cultivating trusted industry relationships, engaging with prospective managers, attending relevant events, and conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Provide support for colleagues also researching managers and contribute to peer reviews of research presented by other team members
- Actively contribute to client service and business development efforts through face‑to‑face meetings and supporting the creation and delivery of high‑quality promotional materials and intellectual capital
- Provide support for other investment functions, such as the Model Portfolio Investment Committee or SAA, when necessary
What you need to have
- Solid experience within the UK asset management / wealth industry or in manager research. A broad and deep knowledge of asset management groups is also important
- We think scientifically and our research is evidence‑based, so the candidate must be both numerate and analytically minded (although their qualitative skills will be important too)
- An eye for detail and an ability to articulate their opinions clearly (both verbally and written) is a must, as is having a curious nature and willingness to dip deep into manager research
- Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
- Well versed in standard MS Office applications, notably Excel
- An undergraduate degree
What makes you stand out
- Holding the CFA charter would be an advantage but not a requirement, as would prior experience working with investment consultancy clients.
- Experience in process enhancements
- Working knowledge of python/coding a plus but not a requirement
Why join our team
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well‑being.
