A unique opportunity to spearhead the South London NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust (GSTT) as the hub and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) and Oxleas NHS Trust (Oxleas) as the spokes. The funding for the 21 CRDCs and the CRDC Netwwork was part of the £400M invested by industry into Voluntary Scheme for Branded Medicines Pricing, Access and Growth (VPAG). VPAG is a five-year agreement (2024-2028) between the UK government, NHS, and pharmaceutical industry to cap branded medicine expenditure, ensure patient access to new treatments, The post holder will be responsible for managing the GSTT hub and embedding best practice management and delivery of commercial research into the CRDC LGT and Oxleas NHS Trust (Oxleas) spokes and supporting the existing and dedicated CRDC staff in delivering a growing portfolio of commercial research.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced, strategically minded and goal orientated Research Manager to operationally lead and manage the South London CRDC and grow the portfolio of commercial research delivered across Guys and St Thomas, Lewisham and Greenwich and Oxleas Trusts.

GSTT was awarded £4.7m for the NIHR South London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) to build a high-performing centre delivering commercial research studies across South London. A hub and spoke model has been designed and built with GSTT as the hub and the partner NHS Trusts LGT and Oxleas forming the spokes with the objectives of growing the number of commercial trials and recruitment to trials across South London while also building capability and capacity in LGT and Oxleas. The next stage will build to extend the hub and spoke model to include other hospitals across South London, Primary care and the community.
