A leading business is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Buyer to join its growing procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused procurement professional to take ownership of supplier strategy, category management, and supply chain performance within a highly technical environment. You'll play a key role in developing supplier relationships, driving cost‑saving initiatives, improving supply chain resilience, and supporting long‑term operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies across assigned commodities
- Manage supplier performance, sourcing activity, and long‑term agreements
- Drive cost reduction and supply chain improvement initiatives
- Build supplier resilience and support business continuity planning
- Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams
- Support supplier onboarding and capacity planning
- Ensure supplier compliance with quality, regulatory, and ESG standards
About You
- CIPS Level 4 qualified
- Proven procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering
- Experience developing sourcing or category strategies
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
