We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s innovative team working at the forefront of aerospace and defence technology. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects within a highly regulated and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components and mechanisms for aerospace and defence applications
- Conduct structural and thermal analyses, including Finite Element (FE) modelling, to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines
- Support prototyping, testing, and practical assembly of mechanical systems and mechanisms
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to design reviews and support engineering decision-making across project lifecycles
Experience required;
- Demonstrated experience working within highly regulated environments, ideally aerospace or space sectors
- Strong understanding of structural and/or thermal analysis and FE modelling techniques
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (CAD) and analysis tools for structural, thermal, and mathematical modelling
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: gears, motors, or mechanical mechanisms
- Practical experience in building and testing mechanical systems and mechanisms
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
