We are seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join our Wealth Planning team. This is a key technical role supporting Wealth Planners in delivering high-quality, holistic financial advice and good client outcomes.
About the role
As Senior Paraplanner, you will carry out detailed research across a full range of financial planning products and services, including pensions, investments, protection, tax planning, and cash flow modelling where required. You will prepare clear, accurate, and client-focused suitability reports and supporting documentation to help advisers make appropriate recommendations.
You will also play an active part in maintaining technical standards across the team, supporting less experienced paraplanners, and contributing to improvements in processes, templates, and ways of working.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake accurate and relevant research to support financial planning recommendations.
- Prepare suitability reports and letters tailored to each client’s needs, objectives, risk profile, and circumstances.
- Carry out calculations and cash flow modelling where needed.
- Draft and coordinate technical documents and research for client presentations.
- Identify potential future advice opportunities and raise these with the Wealth Planner.
- Ensure all written communications are clear, fair, and not misleading.
- Act as a reference point for paraplanning queries and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Support, coach, and train newer team members.
- Contribute to efficiency improvements, process updates, and best practice sharing.
- Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing training and CPD.
- Demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, FCA Conduct Rules, and internal procedures.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a paraplanning role, ideally at senior level.
- Strong technical knowledge across investments, pensions, protection, and wider financial planning disciplines.
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
- Studying toward Advanced Diploma / Chartered Financial Planner status is desirable.
- Strong numerical ability, excellent attention to detail, and high-quality written communication skills.
- Experience with financial planning systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with cash flow planning software and Xplan is desirable.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to support and guide colleagues.
