ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for an outstanding Account Manager with a deep understanding of the social media landscape and a talent for building high-value client partnerships.

The ideal person is strategically driven, commercially aware and confident leading social-first accounts. You’ll have a strong grasp of platform trends and the ability to translate social performance into meaningful business results.

Working between clients and internal teams, you will oversee the delivery of social strategies, ensuring work is high-impact, on-brief and aligned with broader commercial goals.

You’ll be responsible for the health and growth of your accounts, balancing creative ambition with expert stakeholder management and a focus on driving measurable ROI.

THE ROLE

As an Account Manager at The Social Shepherd, you’ll own the day-to-day account relationships for your clients. Sitting within our Client Services team, you aren’t just managing accounts, you are the strategic link between our clients’ business goals and the agency’s creative output

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own day-to-day account relationships, including stakeholder communication (internal & external) and retained & project oversight.
• Distil client briefs or business problems and translate them into internal briefs (with strategy) - translating business problems into marketing, communication or social objectives.
• Working alongside internal teams, analyse campaign performance, build case studies and recommend future solutions.
• Build strong working relationships with clients - adopting and championing best-in-class approach to account management.
• Working with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their business and objectives, translating this into client briefs and ensuring that internal teams are clear on their objectives and tasks
• Oversight of multiple campaigns simultaneously, liaising with the department leads and teams whilst staying up-to-date on the progress of each campaign and flagging any concerns or potential issues to the team as soon as possible, alongside suggested solutions.
• Sharing clear and thorough updates and reporting with clients regularly over email, phone calls and face-to-face meetings while providing recommendations and expertise at every stage of the campaign.
• Presenting clearly and confidently to key stakeholders in pitches, kick-off meetings and post-campaign analysis meetings.
• Continual forward-thinking and proactive ideation of additional activities that we could propose to clients based on a detailed knowledge of their business, objectives and upcoming focuses.
• Building trusted relationships with clients, leading to repeat business in the long term.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of experience in Account Management.
• You love being organised and enjoy seeing a plan come together.
• A working knowledge of the social media landscape, the wider communications landscape and your client's business. Be proactive in sharing this knowledge with both internal stakeholders and clients.
• You're happy speaking with clients & internal teams to ensure everything runs smoothly from the beginning to completion.
