ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN


CCL Global are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to support a highly advanced research and engineering environment within the UK’s energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems within a complex, high-integrity facility.


Type of Contract: Contract (Inside IR35)

Location: Oxford, Abingdon (100% onsite)

Contract Length: 12 months


Key Duties Will Include:

  • Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across a range of plant equipment.
  • Support fault finding and diagnostics on control systems, power conversion systems, and electrical distribution (LV/HV).
  • Assist in the build and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.
  • Work closely with engineers and Plant Responsible Officers to deliver technical tasks safely and effectively.
  • Support inspection and testing activities in line with BS7671 and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including safe systems of work.
  • Undertake hands-on work involving both robust and delicate electrical components (e.g. instrumentation and thermocouples).

Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained Electrical Technician with experience in industrial environments.
  • Strong experience working on 3-phase power systems.
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnical Technology (e.g. C&G 2330) or ONC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Ability to fault find and work across a variety of electrical systems with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Desirable:

  • Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • Experience working on complex plant, control systems, or power conversion equipment.
  • Background in research, energy, utilities, or heavy industrial environments.
