Job Brief – Senior Process Technologist

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Process Technologist to join a well-established food manufacturer based in Greater Manchester- North of the City. This sits within a close-knit, collaborative technical team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing product trials, supporting production, and mentoring junior technologists, ensuring efficient delivery of products to major UK retailers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage production trials across a range of products
  • Work hands-on in the factory on a daily basis
  • Support troubleshooting and problem-solving in production
  • Mentor and develop junior technologists within the team
  • Ensure smooth progression of products through the NPD gate process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer timelines and expectations
  • Maintain strong communication with production and technical teams


Key Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Experience in food manufacturing (essential)
  • Strong understanding of NPD processes and product launches
  • Experience working in a factory-based, fast-paced environment


Skills & Attributes

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and proactive
  • Strong personality with the ability to influence and lead
  • Team-oriented with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Practical, hands-on approach

  • Working Hours

    • Standard:
    • Monday–Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
    • Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
    • Flexibility required:
    • Time off in lieu / flexibility offered where possible
